Romania is going to be promoted as a tourist destination on CNN,
Eurosport and Euronews, for one year, starting this week, according to
the Tourism and Development Ministry.
Romania's promotion
campaign as a tourist destination will consist of three promotional ads,
one general of 30 seconds, and two others of 20 seconds each, which
promote cultural and nature tourism.
The three TV stations were
chosen based on the audience data among persons with over-average
incomes, who travel for business and pleasure, at least six times a
year, according to the European Media and Marketing Survey (EMS) for
2010.
The total value of the promotional campaign is 4.96 million Euros (including VAT), money covered by EU funds.
Last
year, Romania's Tourism Ministry launched a new country-brand campaign
to attract foreign tourists. Under the slogan "Explore the Carpathian
garden!", Romania is presented as a tourist destination for explorers,
for unconventional tourism.
