Bucharest, among most popular cities in the world

Bucharest is the 55th most visited town by foreign tourists in the world, in the 100 most visited towns ranking made by Euromonitor International.

Bucharest attracted 2.1 million foreign tourists in 2010, up by 5.4 per cent compared to 2009, according to the quoted report.

Bucharest proved to have more foreign visitors compared to Athens (77th, with 1.7 million tourists), Rio de Janeiro or Milan.

Prague and Moscow have the most foreign visitors in Eastern Europe, with 3.7 million, followed by Vienna (3.5 million) and Kiev (3.3 million).

The most visited town in the world is Hong Kong, as it had 20 million foreign tourists in 2010, followed by Singapore (18.2 million) and London (14.5 million), the most popular European city.
