Danube Delta records highest tourist number increase

The Danube Delta is the most popular Romanian tourist destination, according to the boost of tourist numbers recorded, a report by the Tourism Ministry showed today (Tues).

The number of tourists increase by 45.2 per cent in the Danube Delta, followed by the Romanian spas which experienced a plus of 9 per cent) and the small cities and villages recorded a 16 per cent rise.

Bucharest and other large cities registered only an increase of 12.4 per cent in the number of tourists.

Overall, the number of Romanian tourists increased by 16.9 per cent between January and September 2011 compared to the same period the year before.
