Romanians will go on holiday despite the crisis

Romanians are postponing plans to buy houses and cars but not to go on holiday this year, despite the crisis.

A poll by 360insights shows a majority of Romanians are planning to cut costs this year, as far as new acquisitions are concerned, like houses, cars, furniture and electronic devices.

Only 7.0 per cent of respondents said they intended to buy a house, 8.0 per cent a car and 15 per cent furniture or electronic devices.

One in two Romanians will go on holiday, the poll shows, of which half will chose local destinations and a third will go abroad.

Especially young people up to 24 cannot imagine canceling their holidays this year, the poll shows.

Another aspect of the crisis influencing Romanians’ behaviour is that one in four Romanians intends to find a better job this year, especially a better-paying job.

Pollsters interviewed 800 people aged 16 to 64 in urban areas in February.
