Slow food fair in Bucharest on Saturday

Romanian Times

Slow food lovers have a new attraction - a fair in Bucharest that was accredited as a Slow Food International Fair this week.

The Romanian "Peasant's Fair" has been put on the map of Slow Food projects in the Earth market network, which promotes traditional food fairs, it was announced today (Thurs).

The first Earth Market fair in Romania is opening in Bucharest this Saturday at ARK Bursa Marfurilor with the aim of bringing together producers of traditional food and their consumers and of exchanging experiences with slow food and, of course, products.

Daniela Bacanu, leader of Convivium Slow Food Bucharest-Valahia Gusturilor, one of the promoters of the fair, said: "For two years, we have striven to rediscover ancient recipes in the context of local cultures and offered cooking lessons."

Earth Market is comprised of a network of 10 local fairs in Italy, Israel, India and Romania.
