Romanian tennis player Horia Tecau, who won the men's doubles at the Australian Open final, has moved up 5 places in the ATP doubles ranking, published today (Mon).
Tecau, 27, has 5,030 points and has progressed from spot 13 to 8, while his doubles partner, Swedish Robert Lindstedt, is ranked 10th, with 4,630 points.
Romanian Horia Tecau and American Bethanie Mattek-Sands won the final at the Australian Open, in Melbourne yesterday, in the mixed doubles, against Elena Vesnina/Leander Paes (Russia/India), by 6-3, 5-7, 10-3.
It was their first Grand Slam title in their career.
Romanian Victor Hanescu is 92nd in the doubles ranking, with 825 points, and 95th, in the singles play ranking, with 600 points.
Serbian Novak Djokovici leads the world ranking with 13,630 points, followed by Rafael Nadal (Spain) with 10,435 and Roger Federer (Switzerland) with 8,010 points.
