Romania's football team up in 2011 championship ranking

Romania's national football has improved by 8 places, to the 20th position in the world, in the ranking of the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS), published today (Weds).

Romanian League I has 588 points and, despite being up from 28th place back in 2010, it is far down compared to 2006, when it was placed 10th.

The ranking is led by Spanish Primera Division, with 1,194 points, for the second year in a row, followed by England' Premier League, with 1,103 points and Brazil, with 889 points.

Romania is followed by Greece, with 521 points.
