Sapunaru in trouble again

Romanian Times

Romanian international Cristian Sapunaru is facing a storm of criticism in Portugal over his latest performance for his club.

Portuguese sports newspaper O Jogo blasted the player for what repeated mistakes in FC Porto’s 0-1 loss to Chelsea London yesterday in the Champions League.

The criticism comes just weeks after Sapunaru was suspended for two matches after a drunken attack on team staff and journalists as the national team flew back from a friendly in Poland.

He was also fined 1,000 Euros.

Sapunaru allegedly got drunk during the flight and became violent with team staff and journalists at the airport in Bucharest.
