Parliament to participate in Earth Hour event

All lights will go out at the Romanian Parliament on 27 March for an hour to mark the Earth Hour project, it was announced today (Tues).

The Eart Hour event is marked worldwide by turning off lights for an hour to raise awareness of the need to protect the environment.

The lights at the Romanian Parliament will be off from 8:30pm to 9:30pm.

The Earth Hour event has been organized worldwide since 2007, initiated by authorities and citizens in Australian city Sydney.

It has been estimated that around 600 million people turned off lights and unplugged all devices for an hour last year in 4,000 cities and 88 countries around the world.
