Al Di Meola concert in Bucharest

Jazz guitar player Al Di Meola is going to perform in Bucharest on 25 May at the Palace Hall in Bucharest, local organizers Amphitrion said this week-end.

Di Meola is going to perform in a new formula, with the "New World Sinfonia" band.

The artist will re-interpret his songs in Latino-fusion-jazz style, it has been announced.

Di Meola has been playing fusion jazz for 25 years in collaboration with Chick Corea, Luciano Pavarotti, Paco de Lucia, Phil Collins, Santana, John McLaughlin, Jimmy Page, Stevie Wonder and Jean Luc Ponty.

Di Meola has launched several albums, including "Land of the Midnight Sun" (1976), "Elegant Gypsy" (1977) and "Casino" (1978). In 1996, Di Meola formed a trio with Jean-Luc Ponty and Stanley Clarke under the name of "The Rite Of Strings."

Tickets go on sale today (Mon) at prices between 20 and 65 Euros at www.myticket.ro and Diverta stores.
