Metallica, Rammstein and Manowar to perform in Bucharest

Rammstein, Metallica and Manowar will perform in Bucharest in June at the Sonisphere Festival, local organizers said today (Thurs).

The Rock the City part of the Sonisphere Festival will take place from 25 to 27 June.

Organizer Marcel Avram, together with D&D East Entertainment and East European Concert, announced the news today.

Volbeat, Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax, Heaven & Hell, Alice in Chains, Stone Sour and Mastodon will also play during the three-days of rock performances at Romexpo in Bucharest.

Tickets can be bought from the Eventim chain, Carturesti and Humanitas bookshops and Germanos and Vodafone stores or online at www.eventim.ro.

According to organizers, tickets will provide one-day and three-day access to the festival.

Prices range from 30 to 90 Euros per concert, while full passes for the three days cost from 90 to 140 Euros (VAT excluded).

Avram said 45,000 tickets would be on sale each day.

German rock band Rammstein was founded in 1994 in Berlin and has released six albums: "Herzeleid" (1995), "Sehnsucht" (1997), "Mutter" (2001), "Reise, Reise" (2004), "Rosenrot" (2005) and "Liebe ist Fuer Alle Da" (2009).

Manowar is one of the biggest names in heavy-metal and was called "the loudest band in the world" by the Guinness Book of World Records 1984. Over its thirty-year career, Manowar has released ten studio albums, three live albums and numerous singles, EPs, compilations and DVDs, attracting legions of fans.

Anthrax, Megadeth, Metallica and Slayer were founded around the same time and quickly became the main "engines" driving the thrash metal scene in the United States, earning them the nickname "The Big Four."
