Bob Dylan to concert in Bucharest

American singer and songwriter Bob Dylan will give a concert in Bucharest on 2 June, according to the musician’s official site.

The concert location and ticket prices have not yet been announced.

Bob Dylan, born Robert Allen Zimmerman on 24 May, 1941, in Duluth, Minnesota, is a famous American singer, songwriter and poet.

His first songs encompassed a variety of political, philosophical, social and literary influences. Dylan explored various musical traditions representative of American culture, such as folk, blues, country, gospel, rock and roll, jazz and swing, as well as musical genres representative of England, Ireland and Scotland.

Many of his songs, such as "Blowin' in the Wind" and "The Times They Are a-Changin," became real anti-war anthems.

Dylan - who plays guitar and piano backed up by a changing line-up of musicians - has been on tour since the 1980's in what is known as the Never Ending Tour.

Dylan has won numerous awards during his career, including Grammy, Golden Globe and Academy Awards, and been admitted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame in Nashville.

Dylan's discography includes 34 albums, 58 singles and 14 albums of compiled songs.

Dylan released his most recent album, "Christmas in the Heart," on 13 October 2009.

The American singer's 33rd studio album, "Together Through Life," released in 2009, reached number one on UK and US charts.
