Romanian movie wins best-film award at Vukovar

The Romanian movie "Policeman, adjective" directed by Corneliu Porumboiu won the best long- feature-film award at the Vukovar Film Festival in Croatia this past week-end.

The movie will be bought for distribution in Croatia, according to Vukovar Film Festival organisers.

The Romanian movie will be screened at another three film festivals in September, the Toronto International Film Festival (Canada), FilmFest Hamburg (Germany) and the NY Film Festival (USA).

"Policeman, adjective" is also Romania’s nominee for the 2010 Academy Awards.

The film won the FIPRESCI and the Jury’s award in the Un Certain Regard category at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. "Policeman, adjective" also won the Transylvania Trophy at this year’s Transylvania International Film Festival (TIFF).
