Romania, Hungary and Serbia may draw up a joint social-security plan

Romanian Times

Serb Foreign Affairs Minister Vuk Jeremić said Saturday in Timisoara in western Romania that Hungary, Serbia and Romania might draw up a joint social-security plan.

Jeremić said the plan could enhance labour exchanges among the three countries, noting that Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium had already agreed on such a plan.

Jeremić said he was confident Hungary, Romania and Serbia would be able to do the same.

Romanian Foreign Minister Cristian Diaconescu and his Serb and Hungarian counterparts, Jeremić and Peter Balazs, respectively, attended a trilateral meeting on Saturday.

The three ministers discussed the political situation in the region, Serbia’s European perspective, regional cooperation, the future European Union Strategy for the Development of the Danube Region and energy security.
