Romanians accused of eating all the fish from Madrids El Retiro park

"Romanians, a new invasion of species" write Spain's La Marca newspaper in a story accusing the Romanian immigrants of exterminating all the fish from the El Retiro park, one of the landmarks of Madrid, Romania TV news channel informs today (Weds).

The extinction of the fish is not sudden, the Spanish journalists are saying. For three years now, the population of fish started to diminish dramatically and the only ones to blame are the Romanians.

The newspaper says Romanians are crazy about fishing and organise fishing parties each night, placing dozens of rods each night. The problem is that Romanians do not fish for pleasure and do not through them back in the lake, but love to eat them.

La Marca is accusing the police of inefficiency because it doesn't give fines but only confiscate the fishing equipment, which is not hampering the illegal fishing activities as a rod costs only about 5 euros in a cheap Chinese store.
