Baccalaureate exams deferred a few hours because of elections

Michael Leidig

The Education Ministry deferred the start of the first baccalaureate exams on Monday, because most of the schools throughout the country are hosting polling stations.

The voting for the local elections due on 10 June will end at 9 pm on Sunday, but the electoral commissions will count the votes until the next day.

The ministry informed by a communiqué today (Fri) that the Romanian language exam will start at 12 am on Monday, unlike the previous years, when the exams started at 9am.

Secretary of State Stelian Fedorca specified that the exams are not postponed.

"The exams are not delayed, They start at 12 am, it is as simple as that. Until 12am the polling stations will be dismantled and the classes prepared for proper conditions for a baccalaureate session", Fedorca said.
