Unprecedented rise of violent act in schools

The number of violent incidents in Romanian schools increased alarmingly over the past three months, the Education Ministry in Bucharest warned today (Weds).

The violent clashes, alcohol use, discrimination and thefts totalled 4,131 between March and may 2012, a report released today reveals.

Following the alarming findings, the Ministry will start a national plan to fight violence in schools.

The interim minister Liviu Pop will hold consultations in the upcoming days with the representatives of the teachers, students and NGOs in the upcoming period in order to set up the action plan to stop school violence.
