Rising handbal player hangs herself because of family quarels

A rising star of the Romanian handball was found hanged on Sunday (yesterday) in her family apartment in Drobeta Turnu Severin (South West), Romania TV news channel informs today.

Luiza  Purcăreaţă was playing for the local handball club and her team friends and trainers compared her with Lumita Hutupan, the multi-awarded national team handball player.

According to the ambulance service, the paramedics were called by the mother but despite the resuscitation attempts the girl couldn't be saved.

The neighbours told journalists that the young girl was overwhelmed by the endless quarrels between her parents and that apparently, 20 minutes before she hanged herself, the girl called her mother telling her she cannot longer bear the family situation and that she will kill herself.

The investigators said the young handball player left a note apologizing to her family and friends.
