Golden baby girl

This youngster is certainly the golden girl for her parents at Moldavia in Romania.

The picture was taken by a passer-by as the girl sat in her pram outside the family home, and under the watchful eye of her mother.

Wearing gold jewellery as a conspicuous sign of wealth is extremely popular among Romanian gypsies who generally do not commit their money to banks and prefer to put it into something that they trust.

This young girl however estimated to be under two years old probably does not realise yet how much the gifts from relatives are worth.

The unnamed photographer added that the child seemed to have got used to the jewellery even if she was not too happy about it – as it seemed much too heavy for her.
