Cars wrecked and trees down due to blizzard in Bucharest

Some ten cars were wrecked and 25 trees were down due to the blizzard that affected Bucharest last night (Tues/Weds).

The emergency units in Bucharest acted by removing trees from electric lines and streets.

Traffic was blocked on Elisabeta Boulevard for two hours, this morning, after two trees collapsed onto overhead electric lines.

Public transport is experiencing delays due to the incidents caused by the bad weather.

Bucharest and a further 17 counties in eastern and southern Romania are currently under a meteorological warning orange code, for snow and blizzards, until Thursday night.
