Over 1,000 Romanians got jobs abroad this year through Eures

Over 1,000 Romanians have found jobs abroad at jobs fairs in January and February through the European Union's Eures network, it was announced today (Thurs).

Over 2,000 Romanians have applied for jobs abroad through the Eures network, which offers jobs in EU member states based on the principle of the free movement of people.

Four job fairs have been organised in Calarasi, Teius, Bistrita and Ploiesti and 1,160 Romanians have signed contracts for agriculture work.

Romanians will work in Spain, Denmark and the UK, from which employers have sent employment offers.

Other 200 jobs in the construction and forestry sectors are available in Austria. Jobs as doctors and pharmacists are available in Denmark and the UK, where salaries are as high as 12,000 Euros a month, around 20 times higher than in Romania.

EURES is an information exchange network to facilitate the mobility of workers within the countries of the European Union (EU) and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA). Members of the network include public employment services, their public and private partners, and social partners at cross-border level.
