Cosa Nostra member arrested in Bucharest

A Causa Nostra mafia killer has been arrested by Romanian authorities, police said today (Tues).

Giuseppe Scuderi, who was subject to a European arrest warrant, was arrested by Romanian police in Bucharest.

Scuderi, 44, was sentenced to life in prison in 2005 because he had killed a man in 1989.

Together with others, he tortured the victim and finally shot him to death.

Romanian police said the man was part of the Sicilian Mafia, according to data from their Italian counterparts.

Romanian authorities collaborated with Italian officials in the case of the criminal.

A judge will confirm that a European arrest warrant was issued in his name.
