Bad-weather warning code lifted

Romanian meteorologists lifted the code yellow and orange advisories for the southeastern part of the country yesterday (Mon) evening but warned that snowfall and gusty wind would continue for a few more hours.

According to the National Meteorology Administration's website, the advisory was lifted at 7pm local time.

The first code yellow advisory issued last Friday forecast snow and gusty wind throughout the southern half of the country from Saturday through yesterday morning.

The advisory was upgraded Saturday to a code orange alert for Bucharest and southeastern counties Gorj, Mehedinti, Dolj, Olt, Valcea, Teleorman, Giurgiu, Calarasi, Ilfov, Ialomita, Buzau, Braila and Galati.
