Policeman plays mid-wife during snowstorm

A policeman helped a woman to deliver a baby as the ambulance was stranded and couldn't get to her home in time due to bad weather, according to Realitatea TV.

A woman in Poieni village in Teleorman county in southern Romania gave birth this morning (Mon) helped by the local cop, who was in direct contact by phone with doctors.

Health Ministry State Secretary Raed Arafat said several ambulances tried to reach her home all night long but could not because of heavy snow.

Both the mother and the baby boy are fine.
