Tarom to have new general manager

Mediafax

The leaders of the Democratic Union of Hungarians in Romania (UDMR) have designated Gombos Csaba for the position of general manager of state-owned airliner Tarom, the party said yesterday (Sun).

Democratic Liberals and Hungarians in the country's ruling coalition convened talks in mid-January about sharing top-level positions in government agencies.

Tarom is currently run by Ruxandra Brutaru, the daughter of Tarom's former general manager Nicolae Brutaru.

Tarom is 96.7 per cent owned by the country's Transport Ministry, and the remaining stake is held by regional investment fund SIF Muntenia, Otopeni international airport and Romania's Air Traffic Services Administration (ROMATSA).
