Swine flu vaccinations begin today

A nationwide swine flu vaccination campaign began today (Thurs) with the first batches sent to the areas most affected by the virus - Bucharest and Moldova.

Medical personnel, students, high school pupils and military personnel are to be given priority swine flu vaccinations, the Health Ministry has announced.

The total number of cases registered in Romania since the outbreak of the virus is 2,455.

Two people died from the virus this week.
