Romania to give Moldova 400,000 doses of swine flu vaccine

Romanian Times

Romania is to give 400,000 doses of swine flu vaccine to the Republic of Moldova, it has been announced.

Acting Prime Minister Emil Boc today (Thurs) asked ministers to arrange for delivery of the vaccines which are currently being produced in Romania.

Vaccines produced at the Cantacuzino Institute in Bucharest will be sent to local Romanian medical authorities starting 26 November under military guard.

Vaccination of the population is scheduled to begin on the same day with an initial batch of 1.3 million vaccines.

But it is unclear when Moldova will receive shipments of the medicine.

The move comes after an agreement made with Moldovan authorities at the end of last week.
