Less than half of Romanians say they will be vaccinated against swine flu, a new poll has revealed.
Research by pollsters Future Marketing showed that more than half of respondents do not trust the new vaccine because it is insufficiently tested or do not see the flu as a real threat and would not get vaccinated.
A spokesman for the agency said: "Even though they fear the consequences of the new flu, a majority of Romanians, 57.2 per cent, do not want to get vaccinated against it. The arguments used by those who refuse to get vaccines include: ‘I don't trust them’, ‘I don't need them’, ‘I don't feel this flu is a real threat’, ‘the vaccine is unsafe’, ‘the vaccine is insufficiently tested’."
But 84 per cent interviewed said they would go to a doctor at the first symptoms of flu.
