Number of confirmed swine flu cases rises to 222 in Romania

The number of confirmed swine flu cases has risen to 222 in Romania, with a total of 50 new cases having been reported last week, the Health Ministry announced today (Mon).

Most new cases of swine flu, 20, were in Bucharest, followed by Brasov with seven and Braila with four.

According to the Health Ministry, all cases were those of people who had returned from foreign countries.

The new cases included a group of 10 children who had participated in an educational program in the UK, a group of eight children who had returned from a trip to Greece, and tourists who had returned from Bulgaria, Spain and Italy.

All 50 new patients are under treatment and in good condition, according to health officials.
