Two French citizens and a young Romanian woman were arrested yesterday (Thurs) in Timis in western Romania for attempted fraud.
They had tried to defraud a man of 10,000 Euros by telling him they could sell him paper that would turn into money.
Frenchmen T. Keugne Frank, 32, and A. Bakayoko, 34, and Romanian woman P. Alexandra Maria, 23, proposed to him an ingenious method of multiplying his money.
They said they could spray a substance on paper that would turn it into real banknotes.
The trio of con artists wanted to sell the man a package of such paper that would have to remain closed for a few hours until it turned into real money for only 10,000 Euros.
The police are looking for possible victims of the scam.
