Tomáš Spurný begins mandate as CEO of Banca Comerciala Romana (BCR), following approval by the National Bank of Romania, the bank informed today (Fri).

47 year-old Spurny has been appointed earlier this year by the Supervisory Board of BCR, succeeding Dominic Bruynseels whose term came to end.
The central bank also approved the appointments of Martin Skopek as Vice President (VP) Retail&Private banking, Sergiu Manea as VP Treasury, Capital Markets & Group Large Corporates and Christian Bruckner as VP Operatii.

Tomáš Spurný has been the CEO of several major financial and banking institutions in Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Hungary.

Banca Comerciala Romana (BCR) is a member of Austria’s  Erste Group.
BCR is the No. 1 bank in Romania according to the value if its assets (over EUR 16 billion worth), the No. 1 bank according to the number of clients and the No. 1 bank on the saving and lending segments.
BCR has a network of 48 business centres dedicated to companies and 668 retail units located in most of the cities throughout the country.
