Leu at 14-month high against the Euro

Romanian Times

The Romanian leu strengthened today (Thurs) to a 14-month high, up to 4.0801 for one Euro, according to the central bank.

The Romanian currency was last as strong against the Euro on 7 January last year, when the exchange rate was 4.072 lei/Euro.

The US dollar increased by 0.7 per cent to 2.9817/leu.

Analysts say the Romanian currency has appreciated against the Euro amid worries about Greece's financial situation.
