Romania has fourth-highest industrial output increase in the EU

Romania had the fourth-highest increase in industrial production in January in the European Union, according to a Eurostat report made public today (Fri).

Romania registered an industrial production increase of 6.8 per cent in January year on year, coming in fourth after Malta (14.3 per cent), Poland (11 per cent) and the Czech Republic (8.0 per cent).

Production of intermediate goods grew by 3.9 per cent in the European Union in January compared to the same month a year ago.

Seasonally adjusted industrial production grew by 1.8 per cent in EU member states in January 2010 compared to December 2009, according to the statistical office of the European Union.

In January 2010, compared to January 2009, industrial production increased by 1.5 per cent in the 27 EU member states.
