Ham-fisted police made a right pig's ear of recapturing a runaway porker blocking the road - when they tried to lure it into a trap with smokey bacon crisps.
The real life road hog had escaped from its sty in Sokolka, Poland, where it was destined to face the slaughter house.
But he kept police and wildlife experts on the trot for hours after turning his snout up at the snack that might have smelt too close to home for comfort.
"Maybe it was a bit insensitive but it's all we had in the van," said police spokesman Andrzej Baranowski.
"It took us ages to catch him. He wasn't tempted by food but we eventually managed to grab hold of him
"He's lucky he wasn't hit by a car," he added.
Now the farmer who owns the young porker says he plans to keep him.
"I like his attitude. He's a feisty little thing.
"He deserves something better than to end up on a breakfast plate," he told local media.
