The owners of a pub named after incest pervert Josef Fritzl have been told they could be prosecuted.
The owners, who haven’t been named, sparked outrage when they put out a Facebook message announcing the opening of their new Pub - the Fritzl Cellar pub - in Warsaw, Poland.
Now they have been told to close the place down or face prosecution. They have also been told moves have been started by the owner of the property from whom they rent the cellar bar to see them evicted.
"One of the reasons for this is their promotion of a beast, rapist and paedophile," said district mayor Wojciech Bartelski.
"This man did it in order to get financial benefit. He wanted to make money out of promoting such an odious character and for promoting such heinous atrocities against his own daughter," he added.
In an internet posting, the owner of the pub wrote: "We are genuinely surprised by the reaction to the name of our pub. We know that Fritzl is controversial and could raise negative emotions, but we had no idea we’d get such a strong reaction.
"We didn’t want to hurt or insult anyone. But because of a few complaints on the internet, the story is now all over Europe."
They added that they felt it was an over reaction.
