Did the Earth Move For You? Sex Tea at Apocalypse Hotel

Kathryn Quinn

Guests at a mystical mountain hotel trying to dodge next week's predicted apocalypse really could feel the earth move - thanks to a powerful aphrodisiac brewed from the leaves of local bushes.

Staff at the Balasevic Hotel - perched on Serbia's Mount Rtanj - have been swamped by guests pleading for rooms who think the peak's aura will protect them from the end of the world predicted by the Mayan calender on December 21.

But those who have made it into the hotel's rooms, had better be ready for a big bang.

"We will offer to all guests our unique Rtanj tea which is made from herbs picked on Mount Rtanj," said a hotel spokesman.

"It is a proven and powerful aphrodisiac. So if the world does end, maybe they won't feel too bad about it," they added.

Doomsday cultists believe the mountain's distinctive shape contains a pyramid left behind by aliens thousands of years ago.

Believers say it will emit a protective shield when the apocalypse begins, saving anyone on the mountain.

Baffled tourism officials say they have been overwhelmed by visitors offering families 1,400 GBP to move out of their homes on the mountain just for one night.

"People seem to be in a blind panic," tourist officer Jasmina Milenovic told local media.

Staff at the Balasevic Hotel say they are still overwhelmed by room requests despite being fully booked weeks ago.

"In one day we had 500 people trying to book rooms. People want to bring their whole families," said manager Obrad Blecic.
