A bank truck loaded with 60 million in cash caused panic when it crashed on a motorway in southern China spilling bundles of currency over the road.
Trucker Lv Wan said he was trying to avoid a car when he bounced off a grass verge, overturned and the rear doors burst open sending millions of Chinese Yuan banknotes out the back.
"I was terrified. We have armed guards but it's a lot of money," he said.
Local police SWAT teams sealed off the area in Guilin, in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, backed up by military guards, until a second truck arrived to collect the cash.
One guard told local media: "We gathered quite a crowd but they kept their distance. I'm sure if we hadn't been armed they would have been all over us."
