Cabbie Lan Wu is the luckiest taxi driver bar none - after this five foot long steel rod fell from a construction site in southern China and impaled his car.

Shocked Lan, 32, knew nothing about the drama until the bar hit him like a bolt from the blue as he drove through Chengdu, Sichuan province.

"There was a huge bang and it came through the windscreen and only missed me by a few hairs," said amazed Lan.

"I was shocked but my passengers were terrified and refused to pay their fare," he added.
