Which bright spark built this 1,000 home apartment block in the Chinese capital Beijing, and then found they couldn't fill it?
Because four years after the block went up, only a single family lives there, as can be seen from this dramatic night-time shot of their lonely high rise lifestyle.
Officials built the flats to house families whose own homes have been bulldozed to make way for new construction projects in the city.
But one local property expert explained: "The problem is, people aren't so easily forced out of their homes these days.
"They know building companies can't make them go so they stay put or demand huge compensation."
But despite protests city housing officials refuse to open up the block to other homeless residents.
"It makes me very angry when I look up at all that empty luxury from the shack I live in," said one angry neighbour.
