Watt a Power Boat

romaniantimes.at

Inventor Hermann Steiner is set to make a fortune when he floats his new company - producing high tech electric powered speed boats that can out-accelerate a Porsche 911 sports car.

The sleek-looking craft - which retails at a 190,000 GBP - claims to be the fastest, quietest electric boat in the world with a top speed of 60kph in near silence.

And designer Steiner, 26 - from Mattsee, Austria - says the 120 kilowatt engine produces more torque than a standard Porsche.

He created the boat - which costs just 5 GBP to charge up with electricity - to get around environmental and noise bans on conventional motorboats on European lakes.

"It's a great boat for that but it's also a great boat for anyone who likes to go fast and to take care of the environment too," he explained.
