In The Drink

Kathryn Quinn

Trucker Li XWang watched 50,000 GBP go down the drain when he crashed his drinks lorry into a storm sewer and saw his stock looted by greedy locals.

Li lost control of the truck on his way to a warehouse in Xi'an, Shaanxi province, western, China, and spilled most of the 31 ton load of soft drinks into the shallow drainage channel.

"What wasn't destroyed by the impact was stolen by people living along the banks," wailed Li.

"I asked for help but all they did was help themselves," he added.
