A heartbroken animal lover has told how real life cat burglars made off with her massive 3,000 GBP Maine Coon pedigree puss.
Cupid - who tips the scales at more than two stone - had been playing in the grounds of Stephanie Frey's business in Landskron, Austria, when the thieves drove into the car park, snatched the cat and fled.
Stephanie's second Maine Coon, Dream Dancer, was not taken.
"I think someone noticed him running around and realised how valuable he is. It's heartbreaking to be without him," she said.
Police spokesman Heimo Bartlmae said: "We believe he has been stolen and not simply strayed. We have some evidence that the other cat wasn't taken because it is less trusting - and it defended itself."
