This horny little devil has been spooking residents in Gothenburg, Sweden, thanks to a bizarre genetic condition that's left him looking more like Beelzebub than Bambi.

The young deer is suffering from a condition called 'cactus buck' where a hormonal imbalance means the antlers keep growing instead of being shed each year, forming bumps and spikes on the front of the animal's skull.

Nature lover Ola Enbagen - who snapped the deer when it strayed into his back garden - said: "He was looking right at me and he looked so strange. It looked like he was wearing a big, lumpy hat on his head."

Wildlife expert Leif Lithander said the deer will be monitored to see if his condition gets any worse.

"He should be kept under observation to see if the horn grows over his eyes," he said.
