A rowing family were so busy with their bust up they didn't notice they'd driven off a levee until they careered 30ft down the bank into a river.

But the family - a dad, his son and an uncle from Beijing, China - were still so engrossed in their row that they kept fighting until police arrested them all.

"Other drivers tried to help them but even though they were up to their chests in water they kept arguing and fighting," said a police spokesman.

Police eventually winched the stranded motor back up the back where they found a knife inside.

All three men are facing public order charges, say prosecutors.
