Hapless motorist Helmut Trost caused chaos when he ploughed through a wine bar during a test drive in Thun, Switzerland.

Helmut, 67, lost control of the car as he drove our of the showrooms and went straight through the window of the bar opposite the garage, say police.

"We were having a quiet drink outside when we saw this car heading across the road and we though, 'He must turn soon', but he never did," said one drinker.

"We jumped out of the way and he just kept coming. There were bottles and barrels everywhere," they added.

Police are investigating the shunt.
