Dimwit crooks looking to steal the perfect getaway car for a robbery spree were nabbed - after they chose a distinctive bright yellow camper van.

The distinctive VW micro-bus was tracked over Facebook by owner Alex Steiner, from Thurgau, Switzerland, who said: "I can't believe anyone would steal this camper. It's acid yellow and really stands out.

"It's almost fluorescent and wherever I go it really turns heads."

Police - following postings on Alex's Facebook page - arrested the thieves in Winterthur while the eye-catching bus was parked outside a home the crooks were inside burgling.

"The van was full of stolen goods and valuables from previous thefts.

"They weren't hard to track because the one thing all the witnesses remembered was that very bright bus," said a police spokesman.
