Scooters have been crossed with rollerskates to create this new craze in the form of a motorised scooter skater that can comfortably reach speeds of up to 20 mph.
And the developers are hoping to export them after fitting them with an electric powered engine that they hope would make them legal on the streets of Europe.
Manufacturer Zhang Liang from Wenzhou city, in east China’s Zhejiang province, said: "It is basically a normal pair of rollerskates with a folding electric engine. The driver can sit or stand and it's really surprisingly comfortable and easy-to-use, whichever position you take."
The roller scooter was presented this month at an export fair in the provincial capital Hangzhou and Zhang said they had had lots of interest from both the domestic market and abroad.
