Tyred trucker Ales Stastna was stopped by police on his way home from a marathon shift - too knackered to even notice he'd lost a wheel from his lorry.

The 38-year-old driver told police in Senov Havirov, Czech Republic, he was so tired he hadn't even felt the wheel drop off.

"I could have sworn it was there when I set off," he told officers.

"He's lucky he didn't kill himself or cause a serious accident. He was given a warning, his truck was impounded and he had three points put on his licence," said police spokesman Gabriel Holcakova.
