Hungry Brit Sebastian Longdon got the bite of his life when he went to nibble on an onion ring - and came face to face with a gruesome ghoul in the batter.
Businessman Seb, 44 - on working trip to Warsaw, Poland - had stopped off at local ex-pats' bar Legends when he discovered the death's head skull in his mixed grill.
"It scared the life out of me. I was half way through and I looked down and spotted this evil little face looking up at me," he said.
Bar owner Graham Roose, originally from Liverpool apologised for the mixed chill saying: "I hope it didn't put him off. We didn't charge him any more for the extra batter."
Seb who admitted he'd lost his appetite for unhealthy food after his brush with the grim reaper had nevertheless snapped the image on his mobile phone.
He said: "I decided to save it to remind me to stick to salad in future."
