Ukraine will have 28 fighter jets, 16 helicopters and even ground to air missiles guarding the country's stadiums during the Euro 2012 European Football Championship in June.

Director of the Operations Department and Deputy Chief of Staff of the Command of the Ukrainian Air Force, Major-General Viktor Hamora, confirmed the air cover details this week to prevent a 9/11 style terrorist attack. 

"We will use 28 MiG-29 and Su-27 aircraft, 16 Mi-8 and Mi-24 helicopters of the Armed Forces, there will also be air defence systems that are located near the host cities, and more than 3,000 troops," he said.
